Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect during my first session?

Upon scheduling services, you will be sent intake forms that include documents that collect demographic information, insurance and billing information, medical and mental health history, information about your life style, and various self-report measures. Once the paper work is complete, clients will meet with their therapist for approximately 60 minutes.

The first session is called an “Intake Session”. Typically, during the intake session your therapist will ask you a number of questions regarding the responses in the intake forms. Be prepared for your therapist to ask the reason(s) for which you are seeking therapy, as well as, your goals for therapy sessions. During the first session your therapist will also take time for you to get to know one another better. This is important to establish a relationship, assess your needs, and for your therapist to evaluate their ability to support your needs given their area of expertise.

How does therapy work?

We believe that each person is a unique individual with unique identities, circumstances, needs, and presenting issues. That said, therapy looks different for each client as treatment plans are catered to each person’s specific needs, issues, support systems, and goals.

It is best to discuss any questions or concerns that you may have about your treatment with your therapist to receive the most accurate information.

Do you offer in-person therapy?

Not at this time.  In response to Covid-19, and wanting to keep everyone as safe as possible, we offer telehealth exclusively at this time.  We hope to offer a hybrid model for clients who would prefer a combination of telehealth and in-person services in the future!

Do you offer telehealth?

Yes, we do! For those that are most comfortable receiving services via telehealth, or it best fits their schedule, we will continue to offer telehealth as a option.

How long does a therapy session last?

Intake Sessions last approximately 60 minutes, or one hour. Individual and Couple Therapy sessions last approximately 45 – 50 minutes.
